2025-26 eNASCAR College iRacing Series | Sunset Splash | Week 2 Tournament Preview

It all comes down to this. The Sunset Splash, the sixth and final eNASCAR College iRacing Series Tournament powered by the PlayVS College League, will conclude on Wednesday night at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Week 2 of every Tournament includes the Semifinals, Semifinal Last Chance Qualifier, and the Final Round. $7,000 in scholarship prizes are on the line, with the winner in the Final Round collecting $3,000 and the maximum amount of points towards the overall championship, where another $10,000 in scholarships is reserved at the end of the night for the 2025-26 collegiate season title holder, that currently being held by the University of Calgary's Connor Yeroschak.

From March 31st to April 9th, nearly 200 eligible collegiate iRacers took to the official Time Attack in hopes of qualifying for the final eNASCAR College iRacing Series Tournament. These students collectively put down about 14,000 laps around the 1.5-mile oval in South Beach in hopes of making the first week of the competition. Only 120 students could qualify for the opening week. They were snake split into three groups of 40, and after each group's gauntlet of Week 1 races, 13 drivers per group advanced.

Each Heat race and LCQ will be 18 laps apiece. The Final Round will be the longest race of the event, set at 45 laps, and will have cautions turned on. The final second week of the sixth and final Tournament of the season will stream live on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. ET at eNASCAR.com/live and across all of iRacing’s social media channels.

SUNSET SPLASH - WEEK 1

In the opening week of the Tournament, three groups ran through respective First Round, First Round LCQ, and Second Round competition. Group 1 saw The Ohio State University's Matthew Morton collect the final win of the group's night, while the other groups had Championship implications on the line.

Daniel Faulkingham (University of Maine at Machias) and the defending series champion, Logan Clampitt (California State University, Fullerton) are both on the fringe of being mathematically eligible for the title entering Week 2. Faulkingham stays in the fight after winning the Group 2 Second Round race, while Clampitt wound up second to Yeroschak in Group 3. With no points awarded last week, it was all about just making sure that they survived and advanced to the week that does give points.

CHAMPIONSHIP OUTLOOK

With 40 points on the line to the winner and 12 points available to finishing last in the Final Round, Connor Yeroschak's title-winning magic number is 24th in the final Round. Logan Clampitt, in third, will become eliminated from title contention if Yeroschak makes the Final Round—A win by Clampitt and 11th by Yeroschak in the Semifinal LCQ would put them into a tie that would be broken by Yeroschak and his three Tournament wins.

In Daniel Faulkingham's case, should he win, Yeroschak would just need 13 points to tie and win the tie-breaker on that, which is a 24th place effort. Essentially, if Yeroschak doesn't make the Final Round, there will still be a title to decide. Otherwise, as long as he doesn't finish last, Yeroschak has this basically wrapped up.

TRACK INFO

The old saying, “it’s an ill wind that blows no good,” could be appropriately applied to Homestead-Miami Speedway. In the wake of Hurricane Andrew in August, 1992, South Florida racing promoter Ralph Sanchez began organizing construction of the region’s first major-league motorsports facility as part of the reconstruction of the devastated Homestead community.

With more than a thousand palm trees and a Caribbean color scheme, the facility projects a South Beach flavor that distinguishes Homestead-Miami from other major race tracks in America. The track opened in 1995, was reconfigured in 1997, and then reconfigured once again in 2003 to the current version we know and love today.

Longtime host to NASCAR’s season finale for the top-three National Series, the 1.5-mile variable-banked Homestead-Miami oval has also hosted IndyCar and IMSA events. SCCA amateur races and CSS motorcycle races also take place on the road circuit. The venue was the championship finale up until 2019, but in 2026, it returns to its former place on the calendar.

ABOUT THE SERIES

The eNASCAR College iRacing Series powered by PlayVS College League gives college students from the United States and Canada the opportunity to compete for their share of $60,000 in scholarships. Using the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series vehicles, 120 drivers qualify for each Tournament by registering and posting their fastest lap times in the Time Attack through the iRacing UI. With hundreds of colleges and universities represented in each Time Attack, drivers are competing not only against the greater iRacing community, but also their own classmates, for a spot on the newly-minted bracket.

Following the Sunset Splash, the 2026-27 eNASCAR College iRacing Series powered by PlayVS College League will begin later this summer, with the first Tournament slated for September 23rd and September 30th, with Time Attacks lasting from the 15th to the 20th prior.
