PCL To Host Inaugural Championships at the University of Akron
This Fall, the inaugural PCL Championships heads to the big stage in person at the University of Akron on December 13–14! The top collegiate esports teams from across the U.S. and Canada will battle it out in an adrenaline-fueled, two-day showdown featuring four of the biggest titles in esports: Overwatch 2, Rocket League, VALORANT and more. Other Fall titles will conclude virtually.

“The University of Akron is extremely excited to host the PCL Championships on campus. This competition will allow students from across the country to compete at the highest level, and for fans to come watch the action in the ballroom of the Jean Taber Hower Student Union,” said Nate Meeker, Executive Director of Esports at the University of Akron. “Akron Esports has long been a supporter of the collegiate space and hosting events such as this is a fantastic opportunity for both our community here at Akron and our students who participate in the esports program.”
Nearly $13,000 in scholarship prizing will be up for grabs, with all participating teams receiving travel stipends. Get ready for a weekend of epic moments, top-tier gameplay, and the best of collegiate esports.

Colleges Can Register Students For PCL Today
Fall registration is officially open and colleges can submit their membership applications now for a shot at the PCL Championships in December. PCL Memberships offer structured competition and flexibility for collegiate programs for just $1,000. Memberships allow colleges to:
- Compete in up to 17 games including VALORANT, Marvel Rivals, Overwatch 2, Rocket League, and more
- Participate in exclusive publisher and partner competitions
- Register unlimited teams + players
- No per-seat fees or roster caps
